SCHACKLETONS BJERG 2,808m

Second highest peak in the High Arctic
Many other unclimbed peaks (up to c.2,600m)
Up to 600m vertical height gain from basecamps to summits (1000m on Petermanns Bjerg)
Superb exploratory ski-touring and ski-mountaineering opportunities
Excellent views over the vast Greenland icecap
Ideal time to visit - May to June (mountaineering and ski-mountaineering)
Both Petermanns Bjerg and Schackletons Bjerg can be ascended via non technical routes.
New technical routes up to 800m exist on both peaks.
Many other unclimbed peaks and ranges exist in this region offering a variety of difficulties
Some mixed climbing is possible
Combination of gneiss, quartzite and granite rock
Both peaks are situated close together in the Goodenough region of northeast Greenland
